Client: American Civil War Museum
Status: In Design
Spatial Affairs is the landscape architect for the 9 acre site of the former Tredegar Iron Works, presently the American Civil War Center and the National Park Service’s Richmond Battlefield Park Headquarters. The new American Civil War Museum will break ground in 2015, a merger between the Civil War Center and the Museum of the Confederacy.
The landscape will highlight the artifacts and building fragments of one of the country’s most complex and decentralized water-powered industries, as well as providing new events spaces set against the ruins of the Civil War South’s industrial powerhouse.
